How often should my elevators be maintained?

• For high traffic hydraulic elevators, should be serviced at least once a month.

• For high traffic traction elevators at least twice a month depending on how much it is used.

• For all freight elevators, it is best to service once a month.

• Industrial Rack-and Pinions should be serviced once a month except during outages which should then be performed once a week.

When does my elevator need to be inspected?

• TDLR requires a state QEI inspector to witness the test once a year.

• For traction elevators it is once a year and a load test every five years.

Where do I find out if my elevator is up to date with current regulations?

• Any property where the public has access to elevators needs to be inspected by the state. Your elevator should have a TXE # and you can search your elevator by going to the TDLR website and entering your TXE#
